Connections Academy (loved it)
Lincoln Interactive (hated it, loathed it, & despised it)

Both were funded through our state, but not any more.  (They lost the funding.)  So beginning this spring, we will be using the same materials as Connections.  We purchased them directly from the publishers themselves.  We are on our own, baby...

Her name is Esmy...named after Terry Pratchett's Esmerelda Weatherwax character.  I worked on finishing the wood all weekend, and I got very little sleep.  But here she is with some bamboo fibers dangling from the orifice:

I made a new knitting community...a gallery.  What I found so far had too many rules.  All pictures had to be behind cuts, and I'm too lazy to click on cut text these days.  I just want to see the pretty pictures.

I just recently finished reading this book, Escape by Carolyn Jessop.  It's about a woman who packed up and left her crazy polygamy family, taking her 8 children with her.  They were a part of the FLDS, you know, the people who got raided in Texas (which was a botched job, in my opinion).  Her story really brings to light what the women and young children go through. 

Actually, I'm kind of traumatized now.

Hrm, if you live in the Chicago area, Legoland is looking for Lego builders. They seem desperate. They put out two ads on craigslist since yesterday. And they are paying $13-15 bucks an hour...to play with Legos! Just going to the interview sounds cool.
